Industrial Design

According to Wikipedia, "Industrial design is a discipline whereby the aesthetics, ergonomics and usability of mass-produced products may be improved for marketability and production. The main objective is to create and execute design solutions towards problems of form, usability, user ergonomics, engineering, marketing, brand development and sales." The industrial designer needs tools to quickly design aesthetic and ergonomic products; Sub-D modeling is an excellent way to quickly build and modify a product design prior to engineering it and manufacturing it. SubD-NURBS links the conceptual design process (Sub-D modeling) with th\he engineering process (CAD) to improve the overall engineering design workflow. SubD-NURBS will speed up this process by allowing the data produced by the industrial designer to be quickly converted to a format that is usable by the engineer who will have to detail the design, analyze and manufacture it.
